Save the third day for visiting one of the most important temples in Maharashtra, the Swayambhu Ganesh Temple. In Lonavala, there are plenty of things to do, that even three days aren’t enough. 8. Matheran

9. Panchgani

Since you’ll be tired from your journey and trekking up to the fort, spend the next day going for a light walk to the scenic points in Panchgani. 10. Mahabaleshwar

Mahabaleshwar is lovely for a long weekend getaway, there’s plenty of activity to indulge in and many places to see. You have to begin your trip to this hill station by going to the famous Mapro Farms whose strawberry jam and fruit jelly sweets are famous. At the farm, you can book a tour, where they show you how jam is processed and also take you through their beautiful farm, there’s a small shop here too where you purchase jams. Great places to see here are the Elephant’s head point and the Pratapgad Fort. At the Venna Lake, there’s boating and a few mini-train rides for kids.

11. Khandala

Khandala gained more recognition after it was used in the lyric of a famous Bollywood song. Ideal for a romantic getaway, in Khandala you can rekindle your romance by going for long romantic walks, eat cosy dinners, and even enjoy quiet moments at a campsite. If you are an adventurous couple, a cosy trek up to the Kune Waterfalls is something you have to do. There’s also a few temples and some caves to see in Khandala.

12. Ratnagiri
